IN.gov Agency RSS News Feeds

What is RSS?

RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication. RSS is a system used for delivering regularly changing Web content directly to the user. RSS feeds provide headlines, a short description of the content and access to the full articles. RSS feeds are generally represented by an orange rectangle with the RSS logo .

Why should I subscribe to a RSS feed?

RSS feeds will keep you up to date on the latest news from numerous Indiana agencies. These feeds will let you know when a news release has been posted or updated without the trouble of routinely checking the site for updates or receiving emails for each individual update. You can quickly scan the headlines and read the specific items of interest to you.

How do I subscribe to a feed?

In order to subscribe to a RSS feed of interest, you will need to download and install a RSS reader if your browser is not already equipped. Use a search engine of yourchoice and search for "RSS reader." Many are available at no charge and some newer web browsers already have them built in. These readers allow you to subscribe to a particular feed and automatically update you with the latest headlines. Below is a small sample of available RSS readers.

Subscribing to feeds is easy. When you see the RSS icon on any agency site or from the list above, just select the link, and you will open a new page. Simply click the link at the top of the page that reads "Subscribe to this feed".

After you subscribe to a feed, headlines will be available in your reader. When you see a headline that interests you, just select the link to view the full article.
